Here, I wanted to find out whether obese men over 40 who end up in the emergency room with abnormal test results face a large financial burden.

The data shows that there are only 14 men in the dataset that fit this profile, but and the sum of all of their bills was $400232.09, with the average bill being $28588.01. The average age was 64, meaning that many of these men were retired or close to retirement, making it arguably more difficult to foot this large bill. Catching and treating obesity earlier, before it creates an emergency, as well as generally living a healthier lifestyle, could protect both their quality of life and finances.
